Performance Test Engineer
Design and run performance engineering engagements so high-transaction platforms hold under load.
About the role
You will join the Quality Engineering practice on programmes where performance, scalability and release windows are part of the commercial outcome — not an afterthought.
What you’ll do
- Design performance scenarios, workloads and success criteria with stakeholders
- Execute tests, analyse bottlenecks and report clear remediation paths
- Work with application and platform teams to validate fixes under load
- Maintain reusable scripts, environments and reporting for repeat engagements
- Support release readiness conversations with evidence, not opinion
What you’ll bring
- Hands-on experience with performance tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling or equivalent
- Ability to interpret metrics, isolate bottlenecks and write clear findings
- Comfort working against enterprise release calendars and shared environments
- Solid understanding of web, API and backend performance fundamentals
Nice to have
- Cloud performance or observability tooling experience
- Prior work on banking or payments platforms
- Scripting in Python, JavaScript or Groovy
