Case study

Challenge

A large US hospitality chain was migrating from a monolith to an event-based architecture and moving 40+ applications to AWS — without existing benchmarks, clear NFRs, or a comparable integrated performance environment, while LoadRunner licences were expiring.

Approach

VST established NFRs from production metrics, benchmarked the current estate, migrated 30 LoadRunner scripts to NeoLoad, built extrapolation models with architects, and used service virtualisation so components could be tested before backends were ready. Performance jobs were wired into Jenkins.

Engagement model

Technology

NeoLoad, LoadRunner migration, service virtualisation, Jenkins CI/CD

Outcome

1,200 TPS validated for future scale; reusable performance standards and CI-integrated runs across the estate.

Value delivered

  • 30 application scripts migrated from LoadRunner to NeoLoad.
  • Cross-vendor NFR agreement replaced guesswork with shared targets.
  • Early performance testing via virtual services shortened the wait for integrated environments.
  • Enterprise standards cut tool and process cost while keeping quality consistent.
